CDGK to support poverty-stricken families

Karachi Nazim Mustafa Kamal has assured the families who handed over their children to Edhi Centre that the government will extend all possible support to them so that their children are assured of a better life.The city nazim said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain had taken serious note of the news yesterday and directed him to contact all three families immediately to enquire about their problems and the reasons behind their decision to hand over their children to the Edhi Centre. Upon the directive of Hussain, Korangi Town Nazim Arif Khan personally went to the homes of the concerned families on Wednesday and asked about their problems.According to Kamal, keeping in consideration the self-respect of the families in question, the government could not disclose the measures it would take to help them. He promised that the government will play its role in mitigating the privation of the families.
