
SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the occupation authorities on Friday deployed thousands of paramilitary troops and police personnel to thwart the holding of election boycott rallies.Eyewitnesses said that a large number of security personnel have been deployed in Srinagar and other parts of the valley. The occupied valley is lashed by heavy snowfall which have badly disrupted the communication and transportation systems. Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed to prevent the planned rally to be taken out in Srinagar, a police official said. Some people complained that they were barred from leaving their homes by the security forces. On the other hand, police said these measures have been taken to keep the law and order situation under control.
